Professional expertise and affiliations
Epic Architecture combines registered architectural practice with specialist expertise in high-performance design and active participation in leading professional and industry organisations.
These credentials connect our work to evolving standards, research and best practice across residential architecture in NSW.
Certified Passivhaus Designer
Epic Architecture has Certified Passivhaus Designer expertise within our team, bringing rigorous building-performance knowledge to residential architecture across NSW.
Passivhaus principles can support exceptional thermal comfort, airtightness, energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality. We can apply these principles selectively to improve the performance of a high-end home, or work toward full Passive House / Passivhaus certification where it aligns with the project brief.
Importantly, performance does not dictate architectural style. Our role is to integrate these principles into architecture that remains deeply personal, site-responsive and beautifully resolved.
National Industry PhD Research
Epic Architecture Director and Nominated Architect Jena Glover was selected through a highly competitive national process for the Australian Government’s National Industry PhD Program, undertaking her research through Griffith University.
The program brings together leading industry practitioners and university researchers to address complex, real-world challenges. Jena’s research focuses on the future of off-grid and high-performance housing, investigating how architecture, energy systems and the way people live can be considered together to create homes that are more resilient, efficient and responsive.

Best Paper at the International Conference on Sustainable Energy Engineering
In January 2026, Jena was awarded Best Paper at the International Conference on Sustainable Energy Engineering (ICSEE) in Sydney. As an architect presenting research at an international engineering conference, this recognition represents an important step toward a more integrated relationship between architecture and engineering ... bringing architectural design, energy systems and building performance into the same conversation. The award reinforces Jena’s broader research agenda: developing more genuinely interdisciplinary approaches to designing high-performance and autonomous housing.
Shortlisted as a finalist in the Emerging Sustainable Architect/Designer category
Epic Architecture Director and Principal Architect, Jena Glover, has been shortlisted for Emerging Sustainable Architect/Designer at the 2026 Sustainability Awards. The Sustainability Awards recognise leaders in sustainable architecture, design and innovation across Australia, so this is a significant acknowledgement of the work Jena has been progressing through both architectural practice and research.
At Epic, sustainability is not treated as a layer added to a project. It informs the way we think about orientation, materials, energy, performance, resilience and the everyday experience of the people who live in the homes we design.
