Designed for a farming family with deep roots in the land, this off-grid Inverell farmhouse was conceived as a home for today and a legacy for generations to come.

The brief centred on creating a residence that would allow the owners to remain on the property they love, while providing the flexibility to welcome children, grandchildren and extended family for years ahead. The design balances intimate everyday living with generous gathering spaces, allowing the home to expand and contract as family life evolves.

Drawing inspiration from the timeless Australian farmhouse, the architecture combines robust materials, passive design principles and a carefully considered off-grid energy system to deliver comfort, resilience and independence. Every space is connected to the surrounding landscape, celebrating the rhythms of rural life and the enduring relationship between family and place.
